Casalinga/Rustica

Casalinga & Rustica Pasta – short shapes
"Casalinga" means "Home-Style" – just like mamma makes. L'Abruzzese makes an array of short shaped pasta – from regular favourites including penne, spirals & tubes; or twisting "gemelle" we call "casareccia"; or the large oyster shells – perfect for stuffing; to the authentic and traditional delicacies such as orecchiette (little ears) and fusili paesani (tight twists)

All of these short shapes are delicacy gems due to their authentic "bronze extruded" surface i.e. "Al Bronzo"

"Al Bronzo" or "bronze-style" pasta shapes have a distinct, rough texture. With numerous folds and cavities, this pasta makes it perfect for capturing and holding the flavours of all your favourite sauces. Made from first Australian class durum wheat semolina these include:

Casalinga Traditional Pasta
These pasta shapes are just like grandma use to make in her own kitchen. Our "fusilli paesani", for example, are traditionally made by rolling pieces of pasta around a knitting needle. The simple process of scraping three fingers into a layer of pasta has created "cavatelli" for many generations. "Orecchiette" are made from thumb prints.

Casalinga Traditional shapes include:
