Our tasty selection of Certified Organic pastas include Organic Durum Wheat, Organic Wholemeal, Dark Rye and Spelt & Kamut varieties and can be enjoyed by people with special diets. Being made from softer flours, the pastas take less time to cook and are easily digested.
Also available in Australian-native gourmet flavours such as roasted wattleseed and lemon myrtle, both of which offer a rich & exciting taste sensation. All our organic pastas are made using the finest Australian ingredients and all are 100% Certified Organic with NASAA – National Association for Sustainable Agriculture Australia (reg# 5195P).

About SPELT & KAMUT…
These are ancient, high protein grains and relatives of modern wheat. They have a great flavour and are easily absorbed by the body. They are particularly enjoyed by many requiring special diets, such as people who have a low wheat tolerance or gluten sensitivities. These pastas are easily digested and have a great, nutty taste! Spelt flour is versatile – used in baking breads, cakes & muffins and in pizza dough.
All L'Abruzzese pasta is free of any chemicals & genetic engineering (GE & GMO free)
Something to note:
As Organic Flours have no chemicals or preservatives added to them, the smell of the grain (and hence the pasta) may be a little different from "typical" wheat / pasta.

WHAT IS FREEKEH ? (pronounced “free-kah”)
Freekeh is processed from durum wheat, and harvested while the grains are still young & green. The grains are parched, roasted and dried. It has a nutty texture with a slight smoky flavour and makes an excellent alternative to rice. Freekeh was first discovered in 2300BC in the Eastern Mediterranean when a city under siege harvested their crop early. When the green wheat was set on fire the villagers rubbed away the burnt outer layer to discover the green grain.
Freekeh is a Nutritional Powerhouse. Researched and tested by the CSIRO, it is a low GI food with four times the fibre content of brown rice. It has a high protein content compared to other grains, is low in fat and rich in calcium, iron and zinc.
